Like previous recent iPad Pro models, the iPad Pro 11″ (3rd Gen) models also support LiDAR, “Face ID” authentication, external keyboards and trackpads, and the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen (A2051, MU8F2AM/A, US$129) that charges via a magnetic connection on the side of the device. Along with the aforementioned front camera, it has a dual rear camera “system” with a 12 megapixel wide angle and 10 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens.
In addition to Thunderbolt / USB 4, other connectivity for this model includes 5G, dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) with HT80 with MIMO capability and Bluetooth 5.0. It has five microphones and a four speaker system, too.
The battery life of this iPad Pro model is reportedly 10 hours “surfing the web on Wi-Fi or watching video” or 9 hours “surfing the web using cellular data.” This model has a nano SIM slot to use “traditional” SIM cards (it does not have an eSIM).
Compared to its predecessor, the iPad Pro 11-Inch (Wi-Fi + Cellular – 3rd Gen) — and its Wi-Fi only sibling — are the same physical size and have the same display, but have much more powerful internals, better connectivity (Thunderbolt), and a significantly better front camera, as well. This model adds 5G networking, too.
