It is intended for carriers just about everywhere — it is sold in at least 189 countries — but it is not sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, Russia, and a handful of other countries. It is technically compatible with carriers around the world, though.
All iPhone 14 Plus models have a haptic-touch capable 6.7″ (diagonal) “Super Retina XDR” display (2778×1284, 458 ppi) that occupies nearly the entire front of the device. It has three cameras. On the front — tucked in the “notch” — is a “TrueDepth” camera that in addition to supporting Face ID, has a f/1.9 aperture, takes 12 megapixel photos, and shoots 4K video. The rear packs dual 12 megapixel, 4K video-capable Main (f/1.5 aperture) and Ultra Wide (f/2.4 aperture, 120-degree field of view) cameras. Apple promotes these cameras as supporting a new “Photonic Engine” for improved low-light support. The rear cameras also have a new “Action mode” for improved motion correction and an enhanced “Cinematic mode” with a simulated depth effect that now supports 4K (30 fps, 24 fps).
The iPhone 14 Plus uses an aluminum case with flat sides and has a glass front and back. The front has a “Ceramic Shield” cover for durability and the back has an integrated “MagSafe” magnetic charging connection. It is splash, water, and dust-resistant to the IP68 standard (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes). It has five original color options — (pale) Blue, (pale) Purple, “Midnight” (black), “Starlight” (a warm gray), and (PRODUCT) RED, with a sixth option — Yellow — added on March 7, 2023.
